Guess what’s happening at the end of July? Our 2022 PAPA / PennDOT Bus Tour is on the road again after a two-year pandemic induced hiatus. This year’s tour is being hosted by PennDOT District 8 and it’s going to be one you do not want to miss.
Day 1 - Tuesday, July 26th will include a tour of PennDOT’s Materials and Testing Lab, a review and demo of PennDOT’s Pavement Testing Equipment, a tour of the Pennsy Supply's Central Testing Lab, and Silver Spring Asphalt Plant, and Quarry. Plus a visit to two, in progress, live paving projects.
Day 2 - Wednesday, July 27th will be a half day educational session covering various topics by industry and PennDOT presenters. We have invited PennDOT’s Acting Deputy Secretary for Highway Administration, Mike Keiser, to attend and update attendees on what his priorities and initiatives are and answer questions from attendees. Mike is always very informative and collegial. This half day session also qualifies you for 4 PDH & NECEPT Credits.
This event is limited to 100 attendees, so register early and reserve your space.
Get ready to buckle up and get back on the road again on the PAPA / PennDOT Bus!

Civil and geotechnical engineers often specify asphalt for projects but don’t always get the opportunity to learn about production and construction of the product. This webinar will take attendees behind the scenes using drone video to explore the asphalt production process leading up to delivery on-site. Furthering this educational opportunity, engineers will learn about the construction process by watching asphalt placement and hearing tips to specify and design high-quality jobs presented by experienced asphalt experts.
Attendees should expect to learn:
1. How asphalt is produced
2. How asphalt is constructed
3. Ways to improve the end product through design considerations
